This easy to navigate layout instantly shows the user what they have available to them and colour scheme evokes an easy-going notion.

When ‘New Run’ is selected, the app moves to the tracker screen, where details such as Distance, Speed, Time and Calories are displayed to show the progress the user is making. As well as this, the tracker locates the user to show the exact location and track their movement with accuracy.

When the run is completed, you are automatically taken to the running history section, this is where the user can see the progress made so far and whether or not there has been any improvement.

As a way of spurring the user on, an Achievements section was implemented as a way of showing the user their progress with landmarks, using a medal colour scheme of the final 3 achievements, the aim is to push the user to finally reach the arguably biggest goal, a marathon distance.

Exercises is extra layer to the running app, the aim of this was to create a section of workouts that the user can do to improve their running distance and endurance. The list was separated into two sections: Upper and Lower body, this is so that users can identify what area they are improving, as well as a small description for each exercise so they know how to perform it accurately.

What is RunTracker?

RunTracker was developed to help users who may not have an in-depth knowledge of fitness and the fields related to it. RunTracker comes from interviewing runners with various degrees of experience and utilising what I found in the research to be common themes that they thought were the most important when using a fitness app. This minimalistic looking app will track your run, showing how many calories were lost, the time it took and the distance run; the app will then tell the user if they beat their personal best and give achievements for reaching certain distances (with the final achievement being a marathon distance).
